Prada SS21

 Prada has just released its newest SS21 collection - which is a first time collaboration with Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons. When i first saw this collection my thought was -YIKES. And i honestly dont say that lightly. What purple flying frogs were these two thinking when they put this collection together?  Nearly every single shirt has the most forbidding, obvious, grungy badge sewn into the neck of the top of the Prada tag. Like you need to literally show people you are wearing a designer label shirt? For me designer fashion should be recognised because of the style, material, cut and sheer elegance  of the clothing - not because there is a giant sign hanging from my neck telling the world this is couture.  The following items to grace the runway were just as cringe as the predecessors. Tiffany at odds with LVMH

 One of the partnerships to ever be struck in the high fashion world, occurred on the 6th of January this year. Arguably, with the pandemic sweeping through the globe, it was not a shock to see the one of the most prolific deals struck between jewellery giant Tiffany and co and the global conglomerate LVMH (which owns some of the most notable brands such as Louis Vuitton, möet and Dior) has suddenly been scrapped.  The scrapping of such a deal would seem as some put it - an unfortunate casualty of the COVID crisis, but this deal went far beyond just a simple changing of owners. LVMH brought tiffany for 16bn USD. Its not small feat and it also valued the shares of Tiffany and co at over $200 per share. Losing this deal would drastically change their share price value and not to mention would mean that Tiffany would lose some serious street cred.
