Chanel set to release a collection of mini bags

Coco Chanel was one of the most forward thinking icons within the fashion world at the turn of the 20th century.  Living ontop of her little shop, Coco Chanel dreamed of a future where she would see her bags and clothing adorning the rich and famous. What she didnt realise was her brand was set to become one of the most illustrious and sought after brands to ever integrate into the high fashion industry. Her hand quilted patterned bag and intertwining CC logo have been the most identifiable features and set up Chanel to really be the creme del la creme of the luxury industry.

But it is Chanel's announcement of their newest limited edition release that really has tongues wagging.

Opening a box can be a decision on pandoras scale, Opening a box with Chanel's features emblazoned - the decision is already made.

What to expect, from Chanels limted edition box set is 4 mini bags that best represent Chanel. The case itself speaks volumes for this limited collection, with the ever present quilted leather, gold CC padlock and key carved with stylised flowers.

inside is described as nothing but spectacular, with Chanel mini's of their absolute iconic handbags
The  four creations are arranged stylishly within their compartments: the classic features of the 2.55, in its traditional version with the rectangular closure in ruthenium and the reinterpreted version by Karl Lagerfeld with the CC logo; the geometric and compact Boy - a tribute to the tailoring of menswear and its intrinsic practicality and finally the nonconformist young Gabrielle bag covered in tweed with a network of chains which opened the door to new ways of conceiving the versatile unusual revelation of original ways to wear a bag.

As if this box set isn't already screaming 'TAKE ME HOME", the pink camellia colour, exudes femininity.  If this pink isn't quite to your taste this box set also comes in a tantalising Chanel black which epitomises elegance  and shade the Mademosielle Coco brought to the world.

So while the choice may be tough, between these two colours,  the eyewatering $43,000 price tag (whilst not affordable to many) really reflects the quality, quantity and limitability of this box set. I think Chanel has really lifted their game in releasing this new box set, in remodernising and creating flurry over the brand.  I know this is on my wishlist.

Vivrelle - game changer in the luxury retail market

I like many of you love fashion, but staying relevant in fashion can be really hard. From Valentino to Chanel and Celine to Prada, the seasons are bustling with new statement pieces that i want in my closet.  But fashion, especially luxury fashion can be such an expensive endeavour to keep up with. And with most of my paycheck going towards one bag, it can be very difficult to be constantly updating and changing my wardrobe. While most of us look at posts from high fashion influencers like Chiara Ferragni and Jessica Stein, and their ever evolving wardrobe of luxury handbags and fantasise about what new bag to add to our collection. They change bags weekly and move onto a different brand, size and colour, making it difficult to emulate these fashion icons. I love buying a new bag, the smell of new leather and the feeling of peeling the little plastic away from the clasp (is probably my favourite part) no matter the brand, size or colour i find it just as exciting no matter whic...

COVID impact on luxury

2020 has been one giant... i'm just going to say it Cluster duck of a year. But from trial comes triumph, with some companies absolutely flourishing and some gurgling down the toilet. The unfortunate need for companies to pivot, has left some with no choice but to close down. From fashion shows being streamed online, and shop closures. Luxury has relied heavily on their online presence to continue their revenue and trading through the pandemic. With many economist predicting an economic down turn, decrease in sales and all round shrinkage in the luxury niche.  I am of the opinion that the luxury category was only minimally affected by this crisis, and i think the recent black Friday sales have proved that the desire for luxury items is well and truly alive and well. With Valentino nearly selling out of their sale items within the first 48 hours.  I know crazy right?! and Valentino wasn't the only luxury brand that experienced literal sell out crowds, with Dior, Balenciag...
