How to care for you rockstud and rockstud spike bag.

Do you have a Valentino handbag?

For me the distinctive pyramid spikes on a bag are associated with the brand Valentino. It is hard not to watch someone walking by with a rectangular bag and not say to yourself 'That is a Valentino'.  But the most iconic part that identifies Valentino can also cause some serious injury to your most treasured item. Is it just the nature of the beast? do you just tell yourself, don't worry it's on the flap no one will see it. Or that it only happens to people who don't take care of their bag. Or is this something that has turned you off buying rockstud bags all together?

My Fashiontine lovers, never fear, i am here to provide you with a fool proof way of saving your rockstud and rockstud spike bag from falling victim to unsuspecting imprints. You see, before i learnt this hack, my own bags fell victim to this and i want to show you how easy it is to prevent further damage, and prevent any damage at all for your bags.

It is very easy for your rockstud bags to loose shape. Like most designer bags, if they aren't stored properly they can get crushed. When not using a designer bag it is always important to stuff them with stuffing, suede bag dividers or even bubble wrap. This will ensure that your bag will always keep its shape, even if its stuffed in a suitcase ready for your next vacation ( i know i am already counting down for mine).

I devised a felt insert. It's simple. i take the measurements of the bag, external, internal and length wise. I like to make my felt longer so i can wrap it around the bottom of my bag (because i am uber pedantic about protecting my bag), this also acts like a nice cup for the stuffing to sit inside. I add the chain in the middle of the stuffing as it protects the chain as well.

The reason i keep my bag in the dust cloth is 1. to keep dust off it duh. 2. sunlight can damage the leather of the bag, so by keeping my bag in the dust cloth i am ensuring that there is no uneven sunlight for long periods of time burning a hole (figuratively) through the leather. In saying all this, some people are lucky enough to have humidity control wardrobes ( Dream wardrobe goals AM I RITE) !! If this is you, you probably don't go to the trouble of keeping your bag in a dust cloth because you have an awesome closet that does it for you already. But Stuffing it is still a good idea as maintaining shape is always important especially in designer bags.

But for the rest of us who don't... these easy life hacks will keep your bag looking new for the rest of its life, and trust me when you purchase a designer bag it is a life investment.

Vivrelle - game changer in the luxury retail market

I like many of you love fashion, but staying relevant in fashion can be really hard. From Valentino to Chanel and Celine to Prada, the seasons are bustling with new statement pieces that i want in my closet.  But fashion, especially luxury fashion can be such an expensive endeavour to keep up with. And with most of my paycheck going towards one bag, it can be very difficult to be constantly updating and changing my wardrobe. While most of us look at posts from high fashion influencers like Chiara Ferragni and Jessica Stein, and their ever evolving wardrobe of luxury handbags and fantasise about what new bag to add to our collection. They change bags weekly and move onto a different brand, size and colour, making it difficult to emulate these fashion icons. I love buying a new bag, the smell of new leather and the feeling of peeling the little plastic away from the clasp (is probably my favourite part) no matter the brand, size or colour i find it just as exciting no matter whic...

COVID impact on luxury

2020 has been one giant... i'm just going to say it Cluster duck of a year. But from trial comes triumph, with some companies absolutely flourishing and some gurgling down the toilet. The unfortunate need for companies to pivot, has left some with no choice but to close down. From fashion shows being streamed online, and shop closures. Luxury has relied heavily on their online presence to continue their revenue and trading through the pandemic. With many economist predicting an economic down turn, decrease in sales and all round shrinkage in the luxury niche.  I am of the opinion that the luxury category was only minimally affected by this crisis, and i think the recent black Friday sales have proved that the desire for luxury items is well and truly alive and well. With Valentino nearly selling out of their sale items within the first 48 hours.  I know crazy right?! and Valentino wasn't the only luxury brand that experienced literal sell out crowds, with Dior, Balenciag...
