Bottega effect or be squared

One of the biggest trends to his this fall fashion season is square toed shoes. Dubbed the Bottega effect, the name sake brand has been the pioneer in introducing square toed shoes for women. With its iconic interlaced shoe pattern featured on the shoes of some of instagrams most famous, and consequently the shoe selling out within weeks of debut, it no wonder why the new shoe on the block has literally squared away the competition. With it's 90 inspired minimalism, these thick clean elegant looking shoe - isn't one just for the 'gram as many women and men now done this newly inspired style for their daily 9-5 chic office look.

But why do you think these shoes have skyrocketed the somewhat flailing brand into the fashion stratosphere? For one, the square toe helps offers heaps of room for your little tootsies. I know the struggle is real for me in pointed toed shoes, because it feels like i literally only have two toes and the other three need to somehow stack behind the two protruding ones or pludge themselves over the edge making my shoes look like they have weird bumps.  The second major point of these shoes is they look like actual pillows!! my cushion looks less inviting than these shoes. And with the great success that has been the quilted leather sandal, Bottega Veneta has released a whole range of square toes shoes.

Each of these are variations of slimming back pumps, sandals, booties and mules, it's safe to say that this high fahion luxury brand has really turned the fashion world on its head with these new innovative ideas.

I can appreciate fashion and it's beauty, these pair of pumps will set your bank account back quite a bit. With each shoe averaging a $1500 price tag, its safe to say these shoes really are an investment. But one worth having, because this new trend looks like it is here to stay.

Vivrelle - game changer in the luxury retail market

I like many of you love fashion, but staying relevant in fashion can be really hard. From Valentino to Chanel and Celine to Prada, the seasons are bustling with new statement pieces that i want in my closet.  But fashion, especially luxury fashion can be such an expensive endeavour to keep up with. And with most of my paycheck going towards one bag, it can be very difficult to be constantly updating and changing my wardrobe. While most of us look at posts from high fashion influencers like Chiara Ferragni and Jessica Stein, and their ever evolving wardrobe of luxury handbags and fantasise about what new bag to add to our collection. They change bags weekly and move onto a different brand, size and colour, making it difficult to emulate these fashion icons. I love buying a new bag, the smell of new leather and the feeling of peeling the little plastic away from the clasp (is probably my favourite part) no matter the brand, size or colour i find it just as exciting no matter whic...

COVID impact on luxury

2020 has been one giant... i'm just going to say it Cluster duck of a year. But from trial comes triumph, with some companies absolutely flourishing and some gurgling down the toilet. The unfortunate need for companies to pivot, has left some with no choice but to close down. From fashion shows being streamed online, and shop closures. Luxury has relied heavily on their online presence to continue their revenue and trading through the pandemic. With many economist predicting an economic down turn, decrease in sales and all round shrinkage in the luxury niche.  I am of the opinion that the luxury category was only minimally affected by this crisis, and i think the recent black Friday sales have proved that the desire for luxury items is well and truly alive and well. With Valentino nearly selling out of their sale items within the first 48 hours.  I know crazy right?! and Valentino wasn't the only luxury brand that experienced literal sell out crowds, with Dior, Balenciag...
